Jill Hartley
1950: Born October 7th in Los Angeles, California.

1968 - 1973: Studied at UCLA, Art Center College of Design, and the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle: Bachelor's Degree in Plastic & Graphic Arts; further studies in ethnographic filmmaking.

1995: Publishes 2 personal books on Poland and Mexico.

1997: Moves to Mexico City. Works on various book projects.

2006: Illustrates the book Italo Calvino en México.
Makes color book for Mexican children inspired by Tana Hoban: Circle or Square?
Visits République du Congo: Autoportrait Brazzaville.
Exhibits FotoTarot in ParisPhoto.

2007: Settles in the village of Tepoztlán, south of Mexico City.
Creates 3 more board books for pre-school children.
The series of 4 is published in a bi-lingual edition in Canada.
Visit to Buenos Aires.

2008: Loteria fotográfica mexicana is reprinted in a new improved version, the photos reprocessed digitally.
